You might know today's tune from the Rockettes or from one of Harry Connick Jr.'s Christmas albums, but did you know it was a classical piano piece first? It’s time for every flute player’s favorite part of the Nutcracker - Dance of the Reed Flutes!

The version I’m playing here is scored for 3 C flutes and alto flute. No low flutes in your ensemble? No problem - this flexible arrangement includes alternate parts if you want to play with 4 C flutes.

Today I'm sharing some classic Christmas music! Cantique do Noël (O Holy Night) was originally composed for soprano and organ and has been performed and recorded in every style you can think of. I've arranged the original version for a flute trio featuring 2 C Flutes and Alto Flute.
